With their playoffs hopes very much up in the air, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys will be playing to save their post season hopes in week 17 in Philly.
The NFC East has been filled with drama all season long from Giants wide out Plaxico Burress accidentally shooting himself in the leg to TO causing problems in Dallas to Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb futures in Philly in serious question. The only team to fly underneath the radar has been the Washington Redskins, but even they have had problems with the superstar running back Clinton Portis.
Even with all the added media attention, rumors and God knows what flying around the NFC East all four teams seem to play very good football when they get onto the gridiron.
The Eagles at times have been very solid on both offense and defense, but have failed to be consistent. The Giants are considered by some to be the best team in the league, but after the whole Plaxico problem they have started fall off a bit.
The Washington Redskins started the season looking really good, Jason Campbell finally looked comfortable as the team's leader and starting quarterback and Clinton Portis was arguably the best running back in the league, but after losing some tough games they just haven't been able to recover.
Finally, we have the Cowboys who at times look like the best team in the NFL on both sides of the football, but with media constantly surrounding them and the team not performing up to expectations, it has been rough season in Dallas.
With all that being said, the Giants have wrapped up the NFC East leaving the other three teams behind long ago, but now it has come down to one game for both the Eagles and the Cowboys.
The Eagles are a long shot to get into the playoffs, but the Cowboys still have a decent shot at getting a Wildcard. Both teams are struggling coming into this game as they are both coming off bad losses with the Cowboys losing to the Ravens and the Eagles dropping one to the Redskins.
This should be one hell of game as both teams will definitely be bringing their A game on Sunday. I think Dallas will probably get the best of Philly, but the way these NFC East showdowns have turned out this season, who knows what will happen.
